happy new year!

In exercise., healthy., holidays. on January 12, 2009 at 5:45 pm

okay okay, we are already almost half way through but i’ve been on vacation :)

now that it is a new year, it is time for a fresh start! i am turning my life into a more healthy, happy, productive one. in doing that, my first step is changing what i put into my body. i went to the grocery store the other day and now my refrigerator is filled with chicken, salmon, salad fixings, yogurt, Special K cereal and snack bars, fruits and vegetables, and water. no more chips and dip. no more soda. no more crap!
***this is not a one year resolution! this is a life change!***
i have only started yesterday, but so far so good. is there any one else out there doing similar? if so, here are a couple of site i have found really helpful!
  • eat better america - they take normal, fattening recipes and put a healthy spin on them
  • Special K - a great short term strategy to shed those extra holiday pounds
  • PEERtrainer - very helpful! you can track what you eat and join groups for support
if you would like to check in on how i am doing, you can see my progress on my weight loss tracker towards the top of this blog.
have a great night everyone!
xoxo kaity

Its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

In boyfriend., family., holidays. on December 23, 2008 at 10:35 am

Tomorrow evening my mother and step-dad will be arriving to town from London to celebrate Christmas with our family. I am so excited, I can hardly contain myself! The presents are wrapped. The tree is decorated. Santa’s Marching Band is plugged in. The only thing I need is the day to be here to begin the festivities! Still waiting on the BF’s present in the mail but I won’t see him until New Years, so there is no hurry on that.

Ahhh, my favorite holiday is FINALLY here!
Best Christmas present ever to date:
Santa’s Marching band from the boyfriend. One of the best presents I have ever recieved in my life. I used to have these and they were my FAVORITE thing about Christmas. Every year I would get SO EXCITED to take them out of the box and plug them in. Unfortunately, when my mom moved to London, they were sold at a garage sale or given away, and I haven’t been able to find them anywhere because I had no idea what they were called. Some how my amazing boyfriend tracked them down and bought them for me a couple weeks ago. I cried when I teared off the wrapping. I know it sounds stupid, but they were just one of those sentimental things for me every Christmas, and I missed them so much. Now they’re back and I could not be more stoked!
NOW IT FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

New Years

In boyfriend., family., holidays. on December 14, 2008 at 1:00 pm

December 31st is quickly approaching! My mom and Step-dad are flying in from London for the holidays and I am so excited :) We are heading up north to my mom’s best friends house for a New Years Eve dinner party and I cannot wait. So happy to dress up fancy, eat a delicious meal, and kiss the boyfriend at midnight. I have had a New Years kiss before, but never with someone that I have loved, so I am especially excited about this one. Last year, we were about 6,000 miles apart so I didn’t get to kiss him. Not this year!

This is the dress I want to wear. Can you believe its only about 30 bucks! Anyone want to buy it for me [size medium *wink wink*]?….Worth a shot! Hehe
Just pair it with my gorgeous silver high heels and a long drop necklace and I’ll be set! Oh how I wish you were mine, sweet beautiful dress….
So, what is everyone else New Years plans?

x-mas list

In holidays. on November 19, 2008 at 11:41 am

so, i was driving home from the boyfriends house this morning and one of my new favorite songs came on the radio [Taylor Swift's "Love Story"]. if you listen to the words all the way through, it is like the happy, positive, no-one-dies-at-the-end, version of Romeo and Juliet. anyways, that got me thinking about what i want for x-mas. here’s my rough draft…

1. Taylor Swift’s new CD “Fearless”
2. Those new suuuuuper cute black boots that are all the rage
3. Gas card
4. Gift card to Lucky Lulu’s [adorable shop in downtown SLO]
5. Mac Book
6. Grey’s Anatomy season 3
7. Job
8. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
9. Any season of Sex and the City
10. Jewelry [what girl doenst what this?]
…there are many more, but can’t think of any more right now. Probably won’t get them anyways but A GIRL CAN DREAM!
Below is the music video for “Love Story” so you can see what I was talking about. Enjoy :)
